From the imperial metropolis of Xian and the famous Army of Terracotta Warriors to the kaleidoscope of colours at Kashgar's Sunday Bazaar, the 'Silk Road' journey has so much to offer travellers and adventurers on their 19-day holiday. You will have time to explore medieval Tibetan monasteries and witness caves which shelter thousands of ancient Buddha images. The rich culture and diverse landscapes will astound you as you traverse the one of the world's greatest ancient trade routes.

Beijing, Great Wall, Lanzhou, Xiahe, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumqi, Kashgar.

Trip grading: ADVENTUROUS Suitable for travellers with above-average levels of fitness and mobility. Prepare for some long road journeys, four overnight trains and plenty of walking.

What's included: 14 nights hotel accommodation and 4 overnight trains (soft sleeper four-berth shared cabin), flights as specified, all road transport by air-conditioned vehicles, all sightseeing as specified (excluding entrance fees), Western tour leader based on a minimum of seven travellers, local English-speaking guides throughout, arrival and departure transfers, breakfast daily and two lunches.
