2012 - Your Journey starts Beijing, ends Shanghai

DAYS 1-4 - BEIJING & OVERNIGHT TRAIN
On arrival in Beijing, transfer to your hotel. The incredible expanse of Tiananmen Square is breathtaking as you traverse it by foot on your way to the remarkable Forbidden City. Uncover one of Beijing’s few remaining hutongs, or backstreets, when you lunch in a local home and take an exciting rickshaw ride. After seeing the city’s famous Drum Tower, travel to Mutianyu for your chance to wander the magnificent Great Wall of China. At night, why not feast on delicious Peking Duck or you might delve into the Wangfujing Night Markets? See the lovely Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace. Board a comfortable sleeper on an overnight train and slumber while racing through the darkness to Xian, or take an evening flight to Xian with our deluxe option.

DAYS 5-6 - XIAN
Meander through the fascinating Muslim Quarter and see the Big Goose Pagoda, and then take the chance to indulge in a sumptuous dumpling banquet. Marvel at the intricate detail of the countless iconic Terracotta Warriors.

DAYS 7-10 - SHANGHAI
Fly to Shanghai, with thronging streets filled with wonders old and new. Admire the Art Deco streetscapes of the trendy Bund, and roam the superb Shanghai Museum and peaceful Yu Garden. Discover the lively Chinese Quarter and learn all about the art of feng shui at an educational lecture, before the awe-inspiring feats of the famed Shanghai acrobats. On your last day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
