Policy for passengers affected by bad weather in the UK - Updated 22/12/2010
Travel Indochina prides itself on the extensive network of ground operations, tour leaders and local contacts in Asia, which keep us informed and up-to-date on all local situations in which we operate. Our passengers' safety is of the utmost priority and we rely on these networks to allow us to make the operational decisions necessary to keep our trips running safely. We often know of situations on the ground before the media and we are in constant contact with our local offices, tour leaders, local operators, and colleagues in order to closely monitor and inform you of the most current information affecting any regions where we operate.
Please also read our safety guidelines for further information on the operational safety standards you can expect on every Travel Indochina trip.
For further reference, we also recommend that you check your government's travel advisory for any country to which you are travelling.

Policy for passengers affected by bad weather in the UK - Updated 22/12/2010
This policy will remain in place until at least Friday Dec 24th. We will look at revising it then. This only applies to passengers arriving from or departing to the UK.
-
The situation for current passengers in Asia due to fly to the UK:
Those passengers who are currently in Asia and are unable to fly out due to the airport closure are to be supported fully by Travel Indochina Operations staff. Any costs incurred by the passengers for extra services/accommodation should be paid direct by clients. Clients should keep receipts, check their travel insurance policy in detail and contact their travel insurer to claim if eligible.
-
Passengers who are due to arrive but are unable due to flight cancellations in the UK:
For those passengers who are due to depart on a Small Group Journey or independent travel arrangements in the coming days we will offer two options:
a) Continue to hold services for them on the ground in the hope that the weather will improve over the next few days. Any services missed will be non-refundable as they are being held pending their arrival. If they decide to cancel or amend at a later time the conditions of point “b” will apply.
b) We will offer a free of charge amendment to another departure within the next 6 months. Please note that any amendment or cancellation fees received from hotels or suppliers, including airlines if booked via Travel Indochina, will be passed on to clients. If the amendment results in a change in season the new price will be payable (whether higher or lower). We will seek to minimize cancellation fees as much as possible, but any costs incurred must be passed on.
-
Passengers who wish to delay their travel plans as a result of the current situation:
We will offer free of charge amendments. Please note that any amendment or cancellation fees received from hotels or suppliers, including airlines if booked via Travel Indochina, will be passed on to clients. We will seek to minimize cancellation fees as much as possible, but any costs incurred must be passed on.
-
Passengers who wish to cancel their travel plans:
For those passengers due to travel to Asia on or before Friday Dec 24th, the normal cancellation policies will apply. We will however consider each cancellation on a case-by-case basis and will try to minimize the applicable fees where possible.
