Bangkok, one of the most exciting capital cities in the world is the ideal destination to commence your experiences of Thailand. Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai region will enrich your understanding of Thailand's war time past, while your next stop is the ancient capital, Ayuthaya. Sukhothai's temple ruins are evidence of Thailand's artisans of the past, while Chiang Rai in the northern regions is the optimum location to see the fabled Golden Triangle.

Beyond all these adventurous holiday experiences, a hilltribe adventure awaits before you culminate your journey in Chiang Mai, heart of the Lanna Kingdom.

Trip grading: MODERATE Suitable for travellers with an average to above-average level of fitness and mobility. Prepare for some long road journeys and basic facilities at ecolodges.
