2012 - Your Journey starts Bangkok, ends Chiang Mai

DAYS 1-2 - BANGKOK
On arrival in Bangkok, transfer to your hotel and then meet your tour leader and group for welcome drinks. Walk amongst the vivacious streets of bustling Bangkok and discover the sparkling Grand Palace, float along the Chao Praya River on a lovely longtail boat, explore enticing Chinatown and wander down Sampeng Lane, once infamous for its seedy collection of opium dens and brothels. Enjoy some free time to get amongst some of Asia’s best shopping and taste some of the world’s best Thai cuisine.

DAYS 3-4 - RIVER KWAI & KANCHANABURI
Leave the clamour of Bangkok behind and head to the beautiful River Kwai region, stopping to sharpen your culinary skills at an interactive cooking demonstration. Embark on a tranquil boat journey to your serene riverside resort surrounded by towering mountains and verdant jungle. Reflect on the rich and turbulent history of the region, as you head to Hellfire Pass and the Bridge over the River Kwai.

DAYS 5-7 - CHIANG MAI
Return to Bangkok for your flight to Chiang Mai, ancient capital of the Lanna Kingdom. From the hilltop Doi Suthep temple admire the stunning views before a fun samlor tour reveals this enchanting city. Immerse yourself in the local culture at an elephant training camp and learn more about Buddhism when you meet a resident monk. Wander the famous night markets in your free time, or pamper yourself with a traditional Thai massage. A final taste of Thailand awaits when you join your group for a farewell meal. On your last day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
