Hi Clare,

Let me first begin by saying that I have never sent an E mail like this before but following my holiday with your company I have felt compelled to contact you.

I returned from the best holiday I have had to date at the end of last month and this was due largely to our superb Western tour leader Eric Peterson (my 11 other travel companions also played their part- a great group of friendly people). From the time Eric introduced himself to us in Hanoi to the time he said goodbye in Siem Reap he "worked his socks off" to ensure we had the trip of a life time.

During long coach journeys he would surprise us with bags of local fruit and snacks we had never encountered before and therefore would never have tasted if left to our own devises; he supplied us with relevant reading material to give us a deeper understanding of the countries we were visiting and was so approachable and eager to explain about the culture and psyche of both Vietnam and Cambodia that I now really feel that I have experienced these countries rather than just having visited them! Eric was also exceedingly generous with his free time; making reservations almost every night for us to eat altogether at wonderful local restaurants where he ordered an array of never seen before dishes and explained how to eat them. There was only 3 nights on the whole 21 day trip that he left us alone!

Our every need was taken care of by this wonderful man from dividing up the bill for our meals to making sure suitcases were collected from hotels and put on our coach. Despite warnings in your brochure I hardly touched by case throughout the entire holiday and coming home to look after my family again has come as a shock!

I was also impressed at how smoothly EVERYTHING was handled throughout this trip; coaches were always waiting for us; entry tickets purchased while we were getting off the coach and having a talk by the local guide,and tables in restaurants were always laid and waiting for us. Having had experience of living in a developing country myself I can appreciate how challenging these seemingly simple tasks can be! This again was largely due (I think ) to Eric sitting at the back of the bus and quietly phoning ahead to make sure everything was in place.

I am now home in cold England and have your 2012 - 2013 brochure next to me which I am thumbing through trying to decide which holiday to book up for next.

Once again thank you all as a company for giving me such a magical time in Indochina but please pass on my gratitude to Eric for going "above and beyond the call of duty" during his "Inside Vietnam and Cambodia" trip of November 2011.
